Align Technology opens its first EMEA regional manufacturing facility in Wroclaw, Poland

Tempe and Wroclaw, Arizona, Poland –(Business Wire)–Align Technology, Inc. (“Align”) (NASDAQ: ALGN), a leading global medical device company that designs, manufactures and markets the Invisalign® clear aligner system, iTero™ intraoral scanning Instruments and exocad™ CAD/CAM services for orthodontics and restorative dentistry, today announced the official opening of its first European, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regional manufacturing facility in Wroclaw, Poland. The new facility is Align’s third regional manufacturing facility globally, following Juárez, Mexico and Ziyang, China.

The state-of-the-art facility in Wroclaw, Poland, will serve as the base of operations for Align’s EMEA operations and be part of the global production of nearly 1 million unique clear aligner parts per day. The grand opening ceremony was held in Wroclaw City on September 15th with Wroclaw City Vice President Jakub Mazur and the Align leadership team and Wroclaw employees in attendance. The new Align manufacturing facility is expected to add more than 2,500 jobs by the end of 2025, making it the company’s largest investment in the region to date. The new building is 80,000 square meters in size and follows Align’s sustainability code, including LEED and ISO14001 certification.

The new EMEA facility will begin operations in the second quarter of 2022 as part of Align’s strategy to bring its operating facilities closer to customers. There are more than 7 million orthodontic cases in EMEA each year, and more than 150 million consumers who can benefit from a healthy, beautiful smile. Align works directly with physicians, providing them with the Invisalign Clear Braces System, prescribing patients’ teeth to straighten their teeth and transform their smiles.

Align plans to support all EMEA Invisalign case shipments by 2025, with Poland, Central and Eastern Europe and Spain being the first markets to serve in Wroclaw.
