Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, September 2022 /PRNewswire/ — This fall, Elizabethtown College The School of Postgraduate and Professional Studies (SGPS) will launch the Graduate Certificate in Family Business and Entrepreneurship.start with October 17the first cohort will begin, and aims to nurture students’ entrepreneurial spirit by developing their skills in business philosophy, leadership, strategic planning, management and more.
“The new program puts a unique focus on family businesses by combining elements of governance, group dynamics and succession planning,” Elizabethtown College Vice President of Enrollment Management John F.Champolit Say.
Coaching is available upon request during the completion of the certificate through a partnership with the Family Business Senior Center, one of the oldest and largest of its kind. These experienced individuals will provide students with expertise in developing business growth and achieving actionable results, including:
- Evaluate steps to start, innovate and grow your business.
- Analyze the strategies involved in running a successful business.
- Articulate leadership skills and practices to optimize business performance.
- Criticizing governance structures and succession planning is an important part of the business model.
- Develop a business plan for a new entrepreneurial business idea or possible innovation.
The 12-credit certificate includes four online courses that can be completed in as little as one year, including innovative courses such as “Dream to Reality: Where Are You in the Business Ownership Cycle?”, Strategy and Gaining a Competitive Advantage, Leading for your business growth, dynamics, governance, management and succession planning. This credential also stacks up to Etown’s 36-credit Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Strategic Leadership (MSL) or our 32-credit post-professional Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD).
