After a wild first-half football game, no. 12 Florida leads. 20 Kentucky 16-13 in a game that nearly derailed. Running back Trevor Etienne’s 11-yard touchdown gave the Gators a 7-point lead midway through the second quarter before Florida State safety when a quick pass past Colin Goodfellow’s Overhead and across the end zone to make it 16-7. Kentucky fought back, turning Jordan Wright’s interception into a 1-yard touchdown by quarterback Will Levis to make it 16-13 .
The story of the game was Florida’s quick defense, with the Wildcats just two yards on the ground in 30 minutes. If it weren’t for Wright’s interception, the game could have gone sideways. Wright’s draft pick changed the game, and into the locker room, Kentucky would have the ball first in the second half.
