The Minneapolis VA Healthcare System is working to reschedule appointments quickly due to widespread network issues affecting services.
The network problems started Thursday morning, a spokesman told MPR News, shutting down servers and phones. This means that providers cannot extract a patient’s medical history or historical data.
A Veterans Affairs official said they are canceling and rescheduling appointments as much as possible.
“If a veteran does show up for their appointment, we will provide a brief for that appointment,” Minneapolis VA spokesman Brad L. Dobosensky said in an oral statement. Service, if that’s what veterans desire.”
Due to network issues, Doboszenski was unable to send the email statement.
He said it was unclear what caused the network to fail, but they were seeing as many patients as possible.
