Ore Dock Brewing Company Hosts TV6 and FOX UP Business After Hours Party

Marquette, Mich. (WLUC) – The Ore Dock Brewing Company opened the Marquette Area Blues Fest.

TV6 and FOX UP Business After Hours were conducted with the help of Lake Superior community partners. The event is intended as a casual gathering for Marquette County and UP merchants

It includes food, drinks, raffles and live performances from the Flat Broke Blues. Flat Broke Blues member and director of the Marquette Area Blues Fest Walt Lindala explains why his band played at the event.

“We’re really excited to be here again for another year because this event really kicks off Marquette’s entire blues weekend,” Lindala said. “We’re just going to do our thing and play some music.”

Lindala also encourages everyone to check out the Blues Fest.

“These musicians make a living out of people performing, but they’ve lost a few years in COVID,” explained Lindala. “One of the big things is when people come down, support the band, buy some merchandise and go to the gig, that means A lot. These performers come from all over the country, just on the other side of town, so you don’t want to miss it.”

The Blues Festival takes place Friday through Sunday at Matterson Lower Harbor Park in Marquette. Friday’s event is free. Tickets for the rest of the weekend are $60 in advance and $70 for tickets.
