The New York hush money probe isn’t the only investigation former President Donald Trump is facing.
Here is an updated list of other notable investigations, lawsuits and controversies:
Mar-a-Lago documents: Did Trump mishandle classified material?
Special Counsel Jack Smith is overseeing the Justice Department’s criminal investigation into the retention of defense information at Trump resorts and parts of the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection.
The Justice Department continues to investigate whether Trump White House documents were illegally mishandled when they were taken to his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida after he left office. A federal grand jury has interviewed potential witnesses about how Trump handled the documents.
The National Archives, which collects and organizes presidential materials, previously said at least 15 boxes of White House records, including some classified, were recovered from Mar-a-Lago.
Any unauthorized retention or destruction of White House documents could violate criminal laws that prohibit the removal or destruction of official government records, legal experts told CNN.
Election 2020 and January 6: DOJ
Smith’s remit also covers the period following Trump’s loss to Joe Biden in the 2020 election and the period that led to the U.S. Capitol riot.
As part of the investigation, the special counsel’s office has sought testimony from a number of key White House insiders, including former Vice President Mike Pence, Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner.
Aspects of the Justice Department investigation include the use of so-called fake voters from states Trump lied about winning, such as Georgia and Arizona.
Trump has fought to prevent former advisers from testifying about some of the conversations, arguing that administrative and attorney-client privilege could keep information secret or slow down criminal investigations.
Election 2020: Efforts to Overturn Georgia’s Election Results
Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis oversaw a special grand jury investigating what Trump or his allies may have done in an effort to overturn Biden’s victory in Georgia .
CNN’s Don Lemon reported Monday that Willis, a Democrat, is considering filing conspiracy and racketeering charges.
The probe was launched in 2021 after Trump’s January call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, in which he urged Republicans to “find” votes to overturn the election.
A grand jury released a report, largely still under wraps, that found there was no widespread voter fraud in the state and recommended that perjury charges be considered against some of those who testified.
In all, the grand jury recommended charges against a dozen people, the chief said in an interview last month.
