Newly launched USS Minneapolis-St. The St. Paul Littoral Combat Ship was damaged by a huge Danish sailboat while docked in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor on Sunday.
Video taken by Twitter user Charles Degliomini shows the Danish training ship crashing into the USS Minneapolis-St. Paul, some of the guardrails on the boat were destroyed.

The U.S. Navy said no sailors were injured in the incident.
“No U.S. Navy personnel were injured and no serious damage was sustained aboard the USS Minneapolis Street. The Danish training ship Danmark makes contact with a moored Littoral Combat Ship as it sails from Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, September 11, 2022 ,” a U.S. Navy spokesman said in a statement.
“The ships were in port for Maryland Fleet Week and the Baltimore Flyover had a fantastic week in Baltimore.”
Maryland Fleet Week begins Sept. 1, according to the U.S. Navy. 7th until Tuesday in September. 13. Multiple vessels were in the activity area.
In 1939, the fully assembled steel-hulled Denmark made her first stop in Baltimore, according to the Baltimore Sun.
USS Minneapolis-St. Paul officially launched in Duluth on May 21, 2022. It marks the first Navy ship to serve in the state. It was built in Marinette, Wisconsin, and its home port is in Florida.
This is the second ship to honor both Minneapolis and St. Petersburg. Paul was named after him, and the first was launched in 1983. The nearly 400-foot vessel, with a crew of 110, was launched in 2019 and completed sea trials a year later. It is then sent to the Navy in late 2021.
