After the death of Queen Elizabeth II, not only will the UK have a new royal leader, but things across the country – from the national anthem to money – will also change.
Her eldest son and heir, Prince Charles, 73, became King Charles III after the monarch’s death was announced on Thursday.
There have been plans for years to kill the Queen, Operation London Bridge, and to begin the King’s reign, Operation Spring Tide. But there are still some things that will change in the days, months and even years to come. Here are some things that are expected to be different in the UK:
Royal succession:What will happen to King Charles III and the rest of the royal family under his new monarchy?
Funeral Plan Parade:What happens when Queen Elizabeth II dies?
National anthem
The national anthem of the United Kingdom is “God Save the Queen”. With Charles ascending the throne, the name will be changed to “God Save the King”.
All lyrics will remain the same, except for the mention that the Queen will become “King”. All pronouns in the national anthem will also be changed to “he” and “he”.
For example: “God bless the queen and send her victory” would be “God bless the king and send him victory”.
money
All of Britain’s currency, known as the British pound, has a portrait of the queen, which will eventually be replaced by that of the king. According to the Guardian, there are around 4.5 billion banknotes with the Queen’s portrait in circulation, and it will take at least two years for the king to appear on the banknotes.

The Queen also appears on some banknotes and coins in Canada and other Commonwealth countries, but the status of these new portraits is unclear.

postage stamps
The queen is also featured on the stamps, soon to feature the king as the old ones are phased out.
Mailboxes across the UK say EIIR is the cipher for Queen Elizabeth II Regina and may not be replaced or removed. Instead, when new ones are created, they will have the king’s cipher.
logo
Flags at police stations, government buildings and other places with the Queen’s Code across the country need to be replaced. The new logo and colors have yet to be announced.
It is also possible that the standard royal flag will change, that is, the flag that is flown on buildings whenever the head of the royal family resides. Another logo that can be changed is the Queen’s color logo.

family title
In addition to the title of Charles, many titles of the royal family have also changed. Camilla Parker Bowles, wife of King Charles III, is now Queen.
Prince William and Kate Middleton were once the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and are now the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge.
Even though Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have left the royal family, there is a chance that their children Archie and Lilibet will be given the title of prince and princess.
