The Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) School of Business today announced a new initiative to increase the accessibility of its graduate programs and meet growing market demand. Under the initiative, tuition fees for certain courses are being streamlined and reduced. These changes are being implemented as part of a larger effort to WPI’s 2021-2026 strategic plan, “Leading with Purpose,” which directly addresses accessibility and affordability to support a thriving and diverse range of learners and practices community.

“In this increasingly competitive business world, there is an urgent need for STEM professionals with strong business acumen and management skills,” Dr. Rev. Deborah Jackson, Dean of the WPI School of Business.

data from The future of employment surveys According to a 2020 study by the World Economic Forum, the 20 fastest-growing occupations require a combination of technical and business skills. These roles include data analysts and scientists, business development professionals and fintech engineers. Additionally, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) predicts that STEM occupations will increase by 11 percent by 2030.

“This move will enable more students to enroll in our graduate programs, see a faster return on their investment, and prepare them for their careers,” Jackson added.

Among its graduate programs, the business school offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Science in Business Analytics, User Experience Innovation, Information Technology, and Operations and Supply Chain Analytics.
